[Voxtrot]
Something I've come to hate about blogging is what I like to call "blogger's remorse" - wanting to write about a group ridiculously past their inital hype and/or at time when a group is completely stagnant with news. Admittedly, Voxtrot is nothing new, so imagine my excitement when I was finally given a reason to do a post on these fine fellows. Voxtrot is an odd group of five that hail from Austin, Texas, and together, the quintet produce smart, poppy goodness. Originally coming together as a way for lead Ramesh Srivastava to simply record a few songs he had written, the quintet, lucky for us, stuck together and pressed on in spite of their original status as a temporary fixture. Despite having only released three EPs since their creation in 2003, Voxtrot has recieved heavy praise for their knack for melody and lyrical genius, and their limited discography leaves many of us eagerly awaiting the release of their first full-length in May. Before that hits shelves, however, Voxtrot plans on touring both shores of the Atlantic - so, of course, don't be surprised if their setlists end up being considerably influenced by their upcoming album. Voxtrot - yet another Austin gem...
