[The Eames Era]
While Alina's out and about enjoying the likes of TV on the Radio, I'll just take some time to introduce you to the Eames Era. I have no idea how I even found out about these guys, but judging by their cuteness, I'm gonna guess its Matt's doing over at Skatterbrain. Coming out of Baton Rouge, the Eames Era is quintet that's too spunky to be called twee but too cute to be simply called pop. The band likes to think of themselves as an oreo - sweet and fluffy centered buffered by a bit of crunchiness - but I think it was best put when ti was said that they're cute and innocent as a college school girl and maybe just as naughty. Tunefully pressing out witty lyrics on a bed of hooks and jangles and handclaps, the overall character of the Eames Era lay in pop. The kiddos' next album, titled none other than Heroes and Sheroes, is due out April 17, but until then, you can keep yourself occupied with the freebies they put up for offer at their site.

From Heroes and Sheroes (all songs are right click - save as):
Dear Gabby
Both Hands Full

From Double Dutch:
Go To Sleep
Year of the Waitress

You can pick up more music and find out about shows at the Eames Era site.
Be their friend!

Otherwheres - The Austinist is kind to point out that you have until Monday, April 9th to enter a draw for $50 three-day ACL Presale tickets here. Fifty dollars flat for three days is more than a bargain, its a steal - highly recommended you try your hand at that if you plan on partaking in ACL festivities this year...

Otherwheres - Chris over at Gorilla VS Bear has a John Vanderslice interview for your reading pleasure...

Otherwheres
- Dodge over at MOKB adds more to his covers project. Be sure to check out the many ways one can sing Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire...
