[FFFest Preview - The National]
With ACL done and finished, Austinites are finding themselves rolling up their sleeves yet again as another tract of park is set to be reclaimed in the sweet and holy name of music. Presented here on Both Sides three times a week up to the weekend of the fest itself will be one artist on the Fun Fun Fun roster.

Here's my offer to make your day a bit more fun (fun fun):
The National [Stage 1, Day 1 - 8:4o-9:4o]
"Staying out super late tonight picking apples, making pies."

Having friendlied many best of lists come the end of the year with their last release, Boxer, the National prompted the interest of many with a very good few of that, I'm sure, looking forward to their appearance at this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest. The Brooklyn-based quintet composed of two pairs of brothers and one man with a voice so powerful he qualifies as a third pair of siblings carries a soudn distinct, defined and clearly their own. Deep, baritone vocals add to a heavy, weighted sound that somehow still rattles your ear drums as light, cool and collected. The National is certainly a group that rightfully deserves the label of "headliner" this year.
